Today in 1900 the document that put West Ham United into existence was filed and so gave birth to West Ham United football club out of the ashes of the now defunct football club of the Thames Ironworks.
The new committee had the day before all met and signed the document in the offices of the Thames Ironworks sports and social club committee situated at 55 Barking Road in Canning Town.
